Service Description

EXPLORE Six practices for deepening your meditation _____________________________________________ EXPLORE is an invitation to move beyond the foundations of meditation and discover what becomes possible when practice begins to deepen. Across six sessions, we will explore different doorways into meditation, including open awareness, pranayama and the breath, embodied awareness, the senses, mantra and sound, and finally the integration of meditation into everyday life. Drawing from Buddhism, Yoga and Classical Tantra, each session offers an opportunity to experience meditation from a new perspective. This series is for meditators who have some experience with practice and feel ready to explore further. Rather than simply learning more techniques, we will investigate how attention can open into awareness, how the body and senses can become gateways into presence, and how meditation can extend beyond the cushion and into the way we live. EXPLORE is an invitation to deepen your practice, broaden your experience and discover that meditation is not simply something you do, but something you can begin to live. What you will learn: Week 1: 21st October 5:45pm | Beyond Concentration Focused attention → open awareness Explore the difference between concentrating on an object and resting in awareness itself. Week 2: 4th November | Breath as a Gateway Pranayama → stillness Explore natural breath awareness practices such as Nadi Shodhana and Ujjayi Breathing central channel practices and meditation. Week 3: 18th November | The Body as a Field of Awareness Body → presence The body is explored not as something to escape from, but as a doorway into awareness and embodied presence. Week 4: 2nd December | The Senses as Gateways Experience → awareness The five senses become objects and a gateway into meditation. The emphasis is that meditation does not require shutting the world out. Week 5: 9th December | Mantra & the Power of Sound Sound → silence In this class we explore mantra, japa and progressively subtler forms of repetition, moving from spoken sound towards silence. Week 6: 16th December | The Practice in Life Meditation → everyday life The final week we learn how to integrate the practices through walking meditation, ordinary activities, relational awareness and a final integrated meditation bringing the series back to the central Sacred Stillness philosophy: Your Life is the Practice.
